Why Wotherspoon?

Wotherspoon Environmental Inc. (WEI) took ownership of WRAP in 2011 and are responsible for completing the WRAP assessments and reports each year. Since 1988, WEI’s qualified environmental practitioners have applied their management and operational experience and expertise to assist the upstream petroleum industry and the industrial insurance and property management sectors. WEI core areas of service are in the following key areas and specialties:

• Corporate environmental management systems (EMS);
• Environmental and regulatory compliance audits;
• Emergency response planning (manuals and training);
• Environmental site assessments;
• Waste management (audits, tracking, reporting, and training);
• Remediation and reclamation;
• NPRI and GHG reporting;
• Glycol dehydrator emissions modelling and reporting.

The WEI team brings together experienced professionals whose environment, health, and safety management capabilities have been successfully applied to both upstream and downstream petroleum industry activities as well as to other industrial sectors. All team members have completed the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) ISO 14001: Lead Auditor Course, and have maintained a current knowledge of petroleum industry environmental topics through research and industry conferences in environmental auditing, environmental management systems, incident prevention, and contingency planning.

To ensure a level of credibility and an assurance of consistency, WEI maintains individual and/or corporate membership and abidance with the codes of practice of the following organizations:

• Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA);
• Environmental Services Association of Alberta;
• Auditing Association of Canada;
• Eco Canada (Environmental Career Organization); and the
• Alberta Institute of Agrologists.
